anybody know this car? 64 Max

That Polara 500 Maxie was at the 2014 MCACN show in Chicago. No doubt it is a beauty for sure. Owner had some great display boards for the car too. Per one of the display boards, the "Tri-Y" manifold was developed, but never offered for sale because in 1964 the drag race sanctioning body (NHRA I assume?) implemented a rule change to allow headers in Super-Stock. The display board also stated that before the rule change, there were only a couple of cars with the modified RH inner fender that were test "mules" for the "Tri-Y" manifold and this car was one of them. Once the rule change allowing headers was implemented the "Tri-Y" manifold concept was abandoned and apparently this car is the only one of the "mules" that has survived to today. Without a doubt, those "Tri-Y" manifolds are the epitome of "bad-assery" as far as exhaust manifolds go. Here is a picture of the car I took at the MCACN show.
