I just installed a new carpet in my 68 Dart. I got it from stockinteriors.com. Wow, it fit perfect! There was a some trimming on the sides and at the steering column and gas pedal.
It was two pieces, just like the original. The new carpet was very three dimensional, it did not lay flat on the shop floor. It fit the 4-speed hump and all contours perfect. I don't post too often, but I had to share this.

While checking into where to buy my carpet, I read alot of stories about these flat carpets people were getting. Posters on this site were using steam, heat, or adhesives to get their carpets to lay flat. This company says they make these carpets to order, then send them out within two days.

It is ACC. I was surprised how good it fit, especially around the hump.

Cool.
I will have to keep them in mind.
Thanks for the posts and pictures.

"Trimparts" is the competition.

It's worth researching which company's product fits best on a per body style basis.

Difficult, but worth the hassle.

I bought mine from StockInteriors too and am just as happy as the OP.
I also liked the free samples ahead of time, the price, and the lightspeed shipping -- it was at my door within three days.
Two thumbs UP!!

I think the key thing here is "stockinteriors make carpet to order" which means the mold is near perfect. Unlike Summit who resells ACC and Trim parts and they have been sitting in the box for who knows how long in their warehouse. I should've know better, I ordered mine from Summit twice once buying Trimparts and once buying ACC and both were terrible molds. I made it work, but it sure would've been nice if I known about stockinteriors then.

Bought carpet for my buckets console 67 Coronet from National Moparts. They are supplied by ACC....fit like a glove. And it came in a box lol
Any other mfg thats comparable??

Not sure. I've had both ACC and Trim parts, both bought by Summit and fit like garbage. Took days to get it formed right. It still isn't great, but it seemed that the mold lost its shape after sitting. Nothing against the manufacturers, but I would pay the extra and buy from stockinteriors because they are made to order

I'm in the process of installing my new carpet right now. Ordered from stock interiors and got the carpet in 3 days. Not bad considering I'm in a foreign country.

I ordered it a couple of months ago, but as soon as it arrived I unboxed it and laid it out. It looked pretty good right away, but after about a day of sitting on the floor it was perfectly shaped.

One more thing; I added the mass backing option. The backing is probably making it a little tougher to install, but I'm sure you will be worth it in the end.

I guess I'm just spoiled. I ordered from stockinteriors , when I got it I was amused at what they call carpet. it's 1/2 the weight(600 series poly backed carpet and lightweight jute) that we use to make 60's lincoln interior carpet sets of premium poly backed carpet and 40oz jute . I am making a pattern to change my "jute" into real heavy weight jute material. but the fit/shape was good otherwise and I will just have to deal with the thinner carpet until my next order for my wife's car. then I'll ask for the better carpet and pay the difference. it's 509 series carpet that is the better carpet if anyone is interested.
