Hello All. This is my first time here, and Guessing by my Username, you'll know i'm a Chevy guy. Truth be told, I am just a fan of the Classics, regardless of brand, make or model.

I come to you today with a question...:
I stumbled upon what I believe to be a '68 or '69 Belvedere (Coronet?), behind an old barn that collapsed. The shell looks to have been there for a while, and has had the diff, motor and trans, and column removed either before it was parked or sometime during its slumber.

Not quite sure of its original color yet, that is part of why I stopped in, or of its desirability. The car still has its bench seat and rear seat, and sweeping instrument cluster. Fenders, hood and passenger door are also missing. Firewall and front subframe seem to be in really decent shape.

I was able to get the trim tag, but not the VIN numbers, and was wondering if someone may be able to give me some info on the RPOs on the tag...?

Any help would be great. One never knows if this could end up being my newest project...

Trim tag is as follows:
20139 228095 9A227130
925 593 603

1T 6W
F5 F5 H2T T7 (sideways O)
RM23 E63 D21 214 B40645

Thanks Fellas. Any help on this would be great. :D
Lorne.

Welcome to FABO, by the fender tag, it's a '69 Road Runner 383 4 speed 2 door hard top.
Interesting thing to note is it's scheduled production date is February 14th, 1969 (Valentine's Day) and it's original colour is red.
The interior is bronze.
Cool car if you decide to get it and restore it.

Thank you for the welcome, and the reply. Fitting color considering the production date...
Any mention about a vinyl top in the info provided?

Also, What is their desirability? Is this something I should consider picking up and putting money into, or part out?

WELCOME -- Lots of Mopar and other automotive knowledge here.

Thanks Magoo. I need all the info I can get regarding this car. I have been Googling the '69 Road Runners, and am getting rather aroused at the possibilities of maybe saving this one...IF it's worth it in the end. I NEED to know what i'd be in for...lol.

Also curious to know what Code this car is. I assume the code letter is in the VIN...

The VIN code is the bottom line of the tag, hence the RM designation! R is the model, M is the trim level, 23 is the body style, the E code is the motor, the D code is the trans! The color is the next line up, F5!!

I have no photos of the car yet, I will later today tho. The info above is exactly what is on the trim tag.

Welcome to FABO. Cool car you found there. I don't want to chase you off but our sister site (FBBO) is all about B bodies which is what you found. Please post some pics because we are all car guys but we especially love Mopars. toolmanmike

pretty desirable car
hard to find a hi end 383 4spd RR under $45k
best to jump over to Moparts..some real resto experts there
..or FBBO

Welcome aboard. Lots of missing pieces. Unless you can do the resto yourself or at least the majority of it there is little money to made. Post pics and what the price is. If you don't buy it, hopefully a mopar lover here will buy it.

Thanks for all the input so far, Fellas.
Ok, so I went back and took a closer look at the car (in the rain), and also snapped a few shots of it.
Upon closer inspection, I learned a few things...
First, the trim tag was NOT born to THIS car. The car I removed this trim tag from is/was originally Green, and has a Tan vinyl top with Brown/Tan interior. It is now a Chocolate Brown color.
The car has factory undercoating on it, and I chipped some of it away to expose more of the original Green color, as well as other areas thru-out the car where I knew I would find the original color. There is NO doubt in my mind that this car was EVER Red.

There is a lot of reusable stuff on it, that i'm sure i'd easily get my money back on if parts sold off it.

Well, it still may be a savable car even though it doesn't have the correct fender tag. That is depending on whether it or the tag were ever written off. Does the tag match the dash VIN? I am having a hard time believing you took the tag off the car. Aside from it supposedly being incorrect, that is a vital part of a Mopar. Was the color under the tag repainted? Is it a 4spd car? Clutch pedals? In any case, we'll be waiting for pics.

There was no VIN on the top side of the dash, nor any evidence the VIN was ever on the dash.
I assumed it was on the door jam, but the DS door is damaged and can't open...Maybe I looked in the wrong place?
The body color under the trim tag was/is Green. As a matter of fact, the whole engine bay is still the original Green.

Gotta look past nature to see the true beauty...:D

that fender tag info is not formatted how they usually are.

I wonder if it was a Lynch road built car because lynch road only in 69 had a unique fender tag format and it could get pretty confusing.

The vin should be on the dash for sure and say RM23H9AXXXXXX
