I believe I stumbled upon a '68 or '69 Belvedere...

-
R-Belvedere, M- Medium class , 23 2dr HT, E63 - 383-4v 335HP , D21 HD 4 speed
Colour F5 F5 Lime Light Green metallic (upper and lower ) same colour as my 69 Cuda.
Just my two cents.
Mopar trim tag are read lower left to right them up.

Your tag starts with the engine code first E63 then trans mission code D21 then model RM23 next 3 digits indicate to the the engine year and plant yours should be H for 383, 9 for 1969 , plant code are
A - Lynch Road, Michigan

B - Hamtramck, Michigan

C - Jefferson, Michigan
E - Los Angeles, California

F - Newark, Delaware

D - Belvedere, Illinois

G - St. Louis, Missouri

R - Windsor, Ontario, Canada

then the last 6 digits would be you the last 6 of you serial number
You missing numbers on your other trim levels seat code should be 4 digits but you only have 3 H2T which I'm thinking is for bench seat High trim level tan colour but just guessing on that one.

Much appreciated, Sir. The more info I can get, the better. Sounds like it's still pretty desireable.
I spoke with a fella that apparently has a claim to it. Says he'll sell it to me for 200.00...

That would be a significant project! I'm thinking it's a great parts car unless it was a Hemi car in which case it might be worth saving?

Too much money, too far gone, I wouldn`t touch it w/ 10 ft pole. you ain`t got no idea how expensive these cars are to fix up. better stick w/ the chevys, unless you want to be diff. from the hoards !

I have been told for years that Mopar has the best database for their cars and their production numbers, options, color quantities, drivelines, etc...

I know this would be a hell of a project, and in the end, it MAY just end up being parted out to help other Mopars live again...which i'm fine with. However, before I tear into it or part it out, I'd like to know, if possible, how many '69 Belvederes were made with this color combo and engine/trans option. I mean, How common was it for a '69 Belvedere to have a 383/HD 4-speed stick option, for example...?

Regardless of what you end up doing with it, I can see over $200 worth of parts. Heck the dash actually doesn't look bad. That could be deceiving in the pics though. But with it sitting on the ground like that the frames rails are likely toast. Offer him $100 and drag it out of there. What's he going to do with it anyway? Obviously not a lot!

I can get it for 200...
Maybe i'm being a little naive, but I have been looking on ebay at things this car would need...OEM/used stuff, and the prices are no different than parts for my '65 Biscayne or my '70 Chevelle (Chevelle stuff pricier than the Biscayne stuff tho...).

and a bottle of 2.99 turtle wax and she'll look like new....

I saw that earlier, I'm just saying you should try. You know, tell him, "I watch pickers and...."!

wow! not even a decent parts car by even todays standards. i really thin ole Sashquat lives there off season!??
if the owner would just let you pull off what parts are salvagable/usable that would be a good thing. i would not pay anything for it if me.

She fought the tree and the tree won. She fought the tree and the tree won.

Shame tho'. We've certainly seen cars in this rough of shape come back from the dead (Graveyard Cars) but do you have the time/money/expertise to do it? Cuz it would take a boatload.

I know, it looks pretty bad in the thickets and brush. That environment ALWAYS makes things, on the surface, look way worse off than it may actually be. I'm curious weather a change of environment and a major pressure wash may yield a different perspective.

I also know that a pressure washing is NOT going to remove the already apparent dents and other body damage the car already has...

You won't know how bad it is until you drag it out. As I said regardless of what you do, there is more than $200 worth of parts there. Are there clutch pedals? If so, that's probably $200 right there.......but I doubt it is a builder. As said there have been worse resurrected, talent and money are the only things between here and there!

Time, I have. Skillset, enough but no expert. Money, no deep pockets. If I took it on, it's not something that would be complete in a year or two. The Chevelle i'm working on has rust issues, but no accident damages, and requires almost as much work. SPACE to work in it, is my biggest issue...lol.

The pedals are not there. Firewall and front sub-structure look to be in really good solid shape tho, so I see that as a positive starting point. Floors I can see, will for sure need replacing, then work up and back from there. Roof will need to be replaced without a doubt.

I have also registered with the local Mopar Club of Vancouver to see if anyone remembers this car.
It's a fairly new site with 33 members so far. If anyone in the Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley is interested in the link, I'd be happy to share it.

IMHO, it's a parts car.
To replace the roof and well.......90% of the body panels including the floor and probably the trunk floor as well, will cost you a fortune and a lot of time.
With no drive train other than the diff, that's a lot of money too.
Did you find the V.I.N. on the dash? If it's gone, that's a deal breaker right there.
It's on the driver's side easily viewed through the windshield (if it had one lol).
You would be into the car for at least 60 grand and it would be worth about 30 grand when done.
If you want to fix it to save it, that's up to you.
For my money, you could find a better car to restore and use this one as parts.........
But for 200 bucks, i would get it and see what can be salvaged.
I am typically a ''saver'', but this one is too far gone even for me.
I was wrong, the color appears to be the right one, F5 Medium green metallic.
But the vinyl roof and the paint color underneath it has me suspicious.

Oh, and before i forget, i am from B.C. originally, and i know what it's like to go through ICBC to get a lost or not in the system car registration.
It's a real PITA.
If the car comes up stolen, you are screwed.
Does the guy selling it to you have any paperwork?
If not, that's a big red flag right there..........
Just but it and part it out to yourself and look for a better body.
That will remove a lot of headaches!
You can't save 'em all!
If you have any other questions, feel free to p.m. me and i'll give you my phone number and we'll talk.
Tom.

the interior had the decor package also, I sold that front bench seat with the decor package for $350!!!!

Thanks Tom. I'll send you a PM with my info.

So, the VIN tag on the dash should be a plain to see as the nose on my face...I'll look again. The kid I was talking with that says he has ownership is trying to get more info on it from the current land owner. I'm hoping to know more about it soon.

Lorne.

Decor Package? The seats are pretty weathered, and the frames are likely toast.

Those metal medallions on the seats are not included on the new seat covers from Legendary, and guys will pay a nice price for those!! Yes, that is part of the decor package!!!

Trim tag is as follows:
20139 228095 9A227130
925 593 603

1T 6W
F5 F5 H2T T7 (sideways O)
RM23 E63 D21 214 B40645
.

TOP LINE:

20 = gate and 139 = base numbers. These are related to the production of the body in white for that car.

228095= Sequence number. Number of bodies produced during that model year at that plant. (take this number and subtract 100001) so this was body in white # 128094

9 = 1969 model year
A= assembly plant = Lynch Road
227130 = VIN number

1T= V1T = Tan vinyl top
6W = V6W = white sport stripe

925 = engine assembly number = 383-4bbl for manual transmission B body. 335 horsepower. This number DOES tell you the HP rating.

593 = rear end assembly = 69 B body 8.75 rear end with 3.23 open (non sure grip) 11" drum brakes

603 = transmission assembly = 69 B body 383-4bbl four speed

F5 F5 = top and bottom of car painted Limelight Metallic green
H2T = interior trim code = High trim level, vinyl bench seat; saddle tan
T7 = inner upper door frames pained tan to match interior
(sideways O) = typical Lynch Road inspection stamp

RM23 = Road Runner Hard top
E63 = 383-4bbl (Does NOT tell you horsepower rating only that the engine is a 383-4bbl)
D21 = four speed
214 = scheduled production date of February 14, 1969
B40645 = Vehicle Order Number (VON). B indicates it was sold in Canada. So this car would NOT be accounted for in the white book production number breakdowns
