It's a 1/2" push nut. I know because I bought 100 of 'em from a bulk site. The local hardware stores didn't have 'em and it was cheaper than buying two sets of four "correct" ones off eBay. (The trunk nuts are the same) Now I have several lifetimes worth of them.
