All my brake parts on my BBP 7 1/4 switched over to my 65 B body 8 3/4 (except brake lines). That's all I know. Might want to hold on to your old stuff and see. :dontknow:
That only works for BBP. BBP axles all have the same axle flange offset. You can swap brakes between the BBP 7.25, 8 3/4, even Dana 60's.
The SBP 8 3/4 axles have an axle flange offset that is unique to SBP 8 3/4 axles. You can't swap the backing plates with anything, even SBP 7.25" axles.
It's been posted here many, many times by many different people. SBP 8 3/4 axles have a flange offset that is unique to SBP 8 3/4 axles ONLY. The backing plates don't interchange with anything.
