So I have a 360 that is mildly upgraded (not a tire-shredding, dual-quad, blown "street rod" engine per se. I'd say maybe 400 horses), and I think the previous owner put glasspacks on it. Of course, they are worn out and sound kinda dull. It also has 2 inch exhaust and (rusty) hooker headers. I'm looking to replace the mufflers with something that sounds nice and a little throaty, but relatively quiet. I don't want to be that douchebag teenager who cruises around with tin can mufflers waking up neighborhoods from a mile away, but I still want to sound unique. What do you guys suggest?

Borla sound good. Otherwise some good old dyno max. In over the hollow tin can flowmasters

I'm going to use the borla proXS mufflers on my 360. To replace the turbo muffler crap on there now. Dustin

I love the dynomax on my friends duster and plan on using them for mine as well.

Another vote for the DM Superturbo, sounds like what you're looking for,I and many
friends have run them. Nice tone, kind of loud at low rpm,but fairly mellow on the road
and perform excellent.

I would ditch the 2" as I don't know much that would make 400hp on 2" exhaust. 2.25 at a minimum and 2.5 would be fine as well.
The dynomax super turbo sound healthy but not obnoxious.Anything straight through will be louder.I ran the Borla pro xs on my supercharger mustang and they were sweet at idle and cruising but opened up alot at WOT.
Consider buying a mandrel bent kit and include an H or X(my preference) pipe in the kit.

Heartthrob makes a decent turbo muffler that sounds good, at least in my opinion. Some others might have different opinions. I own an exhaust shop and have installed a lot of them on people's classic cars and don't get any complaints. I would definitely get rid of the 2" and run 2.25" at minimum or 3". 2" is too restricted and creates too much back pressure. An engine can only suck in as much air as it can push out the exhaust. Again, just my opinion.

Mine is 2.25" without a cross over and thrush welded mufflers [ame]https://youtu.be/9L8p38kRtM8?t=19s[/ame]

Magnaflow, Dynomax Ultra, Jones Muffler Max flow and the Cheery Bomb Vortex all sound good without drone and flow well.

Awesome, so it sounds like the top three are dynomax ultra flow, borla proXS, and perhaps the XR-1s as well. I guess the final thing I wanna ask is which one of these mufflers is moderate/quiet at idle, but really opens up at WOT?

^The ultra-flow on my ride is pretty quite at idle; these glass-pack styles are well known to do what you describe.

Summit makes a very nice all welded chambered muffler. It is very affordable. I have them on my truck and they sound good.
