Hey Roy how thick are those Fel-Pro gaskets? If I'm not mistaken they make them in a couple different thicknesses. Pretty sure they have them in .040 and .065'ish. If yours are the thicker ones you might save having the intake cut by finding the thinner ones. Unless the block was quite a bit I've never had an issue with the intake setting too high too bolt up.
