Fiberglass bumper install ( over engineered)

Well I finally decided to install my fiberglass bumper on my 67 dart street strip ride.

Now I know that fiberglass bumpers are usually a drag only thing. I know they will offer no protection in a crash. So I'm not saying these are safe! I wanna cut weight and understand the risks.

Now that the safety disclaimer is out of the way, these bumpers are from glastek. They are super nice and will require very little work to be paint ready.

I will be using aluminum mounting brackets that I purchased from a member here. I am sorry I forgot his name.

In an attempt to maximize weight reduction and provide a clean install I purchased a set of aluminum body bolts from summit racing.

Then I went about searching for aluminum washers and nuts. I found the nuts locally but finding thick aluminum fender washers was impossible. So I made my own! I used 3/16 aluminum plate. Drilled with a 1-1/4 hole saw

Then I slid them on a screw driver and held them up to my vertical belt sander to clean the outside of them. Here they are all done.
