What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Spent all day on the Barracuda yesterday. Got the GV in and set up, installed the starter and connected it, wrapped the cableing that runs past left exhaust with heat protection, installed battery kill switch and wired negative cables to motor and ground buss.
Today. install console shifting mechanisim then install the front carpet. If I have time, I will get the console in and get the GV controller that mounts in the console connected and finalized. When that is done, install the intake, power steering and alternator on the engine.
All said, pretty hard on an old man body----------serious pain in the muscles and joints.
But a 1967 Barracuda notch is not going to build itself----------------:rock:
 
Going pull out the front seats and get them reupholstered...then change the spark plugs and enjoy the fact I don't have to remove most of upper engine to do so .........
 
Headliner today. Going for it!!

Windshield is out, but not the rear glass. We'll see how it goes....

It will make it harder but just stay patient and you will get it.Taking a few days off cause I'm an old guy and arthritus is preventing me from all the tugging and pulling but I'm well on my way with mine.Good luck.
 
this past weekend - got that windshield wiper kit working - all tubes bent and totally mocked in!! What a PITA! But, I rigged up a battery to it and "Jerry-rigged" the switch - everything went whir-whir just like it's 'spossed to - now I gota take it all back out and final fit everything and - - you know - - put it ALL back in AGAIN... :banghead:

I hear ya....I'm only 49 but I have a bad back.
Still, my 68 notchback ain't gonna build itself either!

I took the weekend off completely from the car.....I'll get back on it Friday!
 
Pulled the power steering pump out Saturday, cleaned up the parts today. A little glass beading the case and the brackets, another wash some new paint. Waiting for the rebuild kit to arrive. Gauges are out at Redline and the column and the steering gear are coming out next for a firm feel box.
 
About 8 1/2 hours yesterday clay barring and 2 coat of wax. Today a little interior cleaning. Maybe tomorrow night a couple more coats of wax if my arms will move.

I have an 9/10 back glass for a 67-69 hell should I list same @ 1k$

worked three 12 hour night shifts and got a day off. Not really much of a day off slept like 4 hours and then another hour nap around 7pm. Night shifts are brutal. Removed the headers on my dart and removed radiator. Tomorrow I'm going to try and pull the motor and trans. Thought the motor might be ok to run until I drained the oil came out gray cottage cheese. Probably going to swap in a 360 magnum and not waste time with the 318 not quite sure yet.
 
Had 8:25 axle in a couple of weeks ago, today finished bleeding the brakes, put the wheels on, started her up and backed out to do a little garage cleaning. What a great day here, 58 out breaking old record of 54. Really getting Spring fever now though!

replaced the vacuum advance on my Mazda truck. found my distributor cap button was gone, like it was just the spring! Its freakin 80 here today.....
 
Picked up my engine, assembled the valve train, made a list of other parts I need to finish it off. Fixed the bench seat, touched up some spots in the engine bay, swept the garage, played with the dog, and drank some beers!
 
Just replaced the year old autozone rear wheel cylinders because they leaked and ruined my backing plate paint job. I did it right the 2nd time. I also hooked up my lower floor console linkage rod so now all of the under the car work is done.
 
re-wiring the under dash spaghetti cluster mess! about 1/2 way there... all because I need a power supply for the wipers..
 
Waxing the Shelby for the Indy Cyl. Head swap meet and trade show this coming weekend.

Put the driveshaft back in my Barracuda. Had it balanced yesterday and since it didn't cost any extra labor, went ahead and had the guy put in two new U-Joints. Also replaced the transmission tailshaft seal. No more leaking!!!!

Took it for a long drive in the be-u-ti-ful weather after. Much smoother now. The guy said the driveshaft was out of balance a good bit.

got my new ignition system from Don at FBO... wired it up and tuned the engine in to the recommendations he suggested... sounds great. now got to fix the transmission, I believe I am having converter issues... time to takeout the a904 lock up and install the good ole a904 with a stall converter... BUILT318/a904/8" 3.55 locked rear.
 
Installed 3.23 open in the 8 3/4 yesterday and my muscles a little stiff today. I went from 2.76 in a 7 1/4 then to 2.94 in the 8 3/4. I'm trying it out on a road trip to the club meeting today.
 
Bled my rear brakes and switched out the t stat housing bolts w/o washers to the factory ones. I think I have found all of my leaks now. I did lay cardboard under it to see if there are anymore *fingers crossed*
 
Lifted Barracuda all the way up on the lift and pressure washed the floor. Solved for new driveline length with GV overdrive, (34 7/16" C/C at yokes) tapped all threads in my LD4B in prep for install and finishing Cal Custom baffle install for VC with PCV valve side. If I can borrow a Harmonic balancer install tool I will install my Harmonic balancer after completing my timing chain oiling mod. I am tired today, I really need a nap!
