15" Rear tire sizes for Duster

-
Are they OutlawII's? $80 brand new I got mine from Summit. I wrapped them wit 245/60/r14s BFG's. They wind up with a nice nearly 10" wide tread at the street. They look good.

Yes the are! I ended up ordering 235s for the rear. This is for my step-son so he wont mind the "thinner" wheel. Did you change your suspension? Thinking of replacing stock leafs with mancini xhd. They say it gives it a 1" raise over stock.

I haven't changed the suspension. I'm thinking about different spring setup because I like the raked look, and even an 1" higher it would look better. My tires cleared the springs by a little more than an inch, and I have lower wheel wells since mine's a '68 Dart, so that is literally the largest tire I can squeeze in there, and this is stock springs in stock location.

They're plenty wide as far as looks go, plus I'm only pushing mine with a turbocharged slant, so I don't really need a bigger wheel I'd think.

Plus my springs are sagged, hence the shackles, which just evens out the body so it doesn't lean over as bad.

Nice! Read through your build links earlier today, love the turbo! Kudos on all the work!! :thumrigh:

My 69 Dart, I have 15x7 cop wheels, 275/60/15 tucked under it. I needed a 1/8" wheel spacer to give me some clearance to the springs and I have little over 1" to the wheel well lip.

15 x 8 Cragar SS wheels (4.25" backspacing) bought new with 275/60/15 tires and they fit with no problems.

At some point over the winter the wheels will be up for sale since I am switching to the large bolt pattern.

I have a 72 Duster with an 8.75 rearend and stock suspension. I talked to a guy on another site that said he runs a 15x8 wheel with 3.5" backspacing and a 275/60/15 tire so I bought the wheels in that size with a 4.5 bolt circle. Now I'm wondering if I should have bought the 4.5" backspacing wheels after reading a couple threads on this site.

My stock steel wheels had 3.5" backspacing a 245/60/14 tires, it seemed like they were pretty darn close to the leaf springs so I was afraid to get a 4.5 backspacing wheel with a bigger tire like the 275/60/15.

I am interested in ordering a set of rallies from summit 5on4 pattern for my sons 71 Duster. The 15x8s only come in 4 and 5/8 backspace, Do you know if these will work? He also want's to run the 275 60 15 and was wondering if yours fit ok and how they looked!

Measure your wheel well clearances using three plumb lines. One from the wheel well lip, one from the spring and one on the drum face. That will tell you what you have to work with.

I'm using 10x15 (4x5 bolt pattern) with zero offset. I had to add a 1/4 inch spacer to center the rims in my wheel wells.

went though this with 74 duster got 15x7 cop wheels put 255/60/15s on fit in wheels with room to spare but only 1/8 clearance from leaf to tire wheels have a 41/2 back space I recommend buying a wheel with a 4 back space 8 in wide and you can get a 255/ 60 or possibly a 275 under there
