Going through the same crap can't get the tank with the grommet to slide into the filler neck. I bought the same part from classic industries and it does seem a bit smaller in diameter compared to the original. Too bad the original one tore in half when I pulled it off or else I would of just used that one . It seemed to slide in way easier. I'll try again tomorrow this time with some lube for easy slip in hopefully lol
