Just picked up a 72 dart laying in the field. Come to find out the vin tag reads.. Lm29h2b######. It says b in 7th digit meaning hamtrack as where it was built. But reading they say they were only built in Canada??? No fender tag or build sheet. How to prove it to be real. I have title and vin tag is still on the car. Any help or I to would help. Thanks

Sup Joe? Long time bud. Isn't the VIN stamped on the car in a few places? Radiator support I think and the trunk seal area somewhere it seems. Not sure, but I think that's right. PM me your number man. It's been too long since we chewed the fat. I had it in my old phone but it bit the dust.

Yes. Vin matches the rad support and drip rail on trunk. But do not understand the b in vin for where it was built as I thought all 72 340 dart were built in Canada. B shows it to in Michigan.

B is the Hamtramck/Dodge Main plant...

They could have built a few, they are not far from Mound Road Engine plant that built the small blocks as far as logistics go...

How you been Joe?

Hey 340plot, your still around........cool!! Sounds like you stumbled upon something here????

Hey Joe nice to see your still around, What ever happened with the 4 speed case you were supposed to get from your brother and send to me? Its only been a few years, so I am still waiting....

Did you check the top of the glove box? Sometimes a broadcast sheet is taped to the top before placing it in the dash. My Duster had one there and one under the back seat.

Yeah, it's a Demon, not one of the possible 60-65 Canadian Swinger 340 Specials. We've only found 11 of the '72's - keep keeping an eye out, there's still a few out there!
