Wish you had your high school car back?

-
I would like to have mine back 70 challenger 340 4 speed plum crazy.

Still have my '72 /6 Swinger I got my junior year of HS (1989). Hasn't been on the road since '95. Needs more work than I can handle (rear frame rails/quarters), but I can't part with it. Maybe someday.

still have the 67 GTS I got my senior year. Matt Hensley built the 499" stroker that is in it now

I probably had 10 cars in HS but the first mopar I had was a 66 Fury III ex Sonoma County Sheriff car,383 super commando 385hp, 4 doors, spot lights and very bright star on door...rest of the car was super faded so star stood out. It was named War Pig and had house speakers in back seat but still room for 3. Used to get 4-5 in trunk with pony keg into drive in. Used to piss off all the Jocks who thought they had bad *** muscle cars. Really pissed off local foot ball hero with a 318 Challanger in lime light green? when I destroyed him on the late night 1/4 we had paced off on old mill road. I would race them in the ol pig and kick their ***...not good for making friends but Jocs dont like gear heads anyway. Still have dreams of the speedo pinned at 140. Wore out the back seat but not the 383...

That prompted a 69 Coronet R/T (late 80's), several Darts(90's to 00's) and now a whole damn car lot of Darts and Valiants and a business based on the Magnum engine. See what a highschool car can do to your life? Could have been a banker or wall street rich guy if it wanst for that 66 Fury III:D

Still have my 72 Swinger 340 Special that I bought in 1979, parked in my garage in 1984 and it never left the garage until I came upon FABO in 2012 and learned some history about it. Met some great new friends as a result and got the inspiration to get after the restoration which I'm in the middle of. Loved this car and sure glad I was able to keep it.

My 1st car was bought off a used car lot in early 1970. 1969 SC/Rambler, 390 4 speed. It was a rambler as far as anyone in the car culture was concerned. Being a dumb *** kid back then I took the car to Earl Schieb, painted it blue, removed the scoop and put big fat tires on the car. One thing it would do is spank the local Chevys and Fords.

Wish I had that car back

I had a 1969 1/2 A12 Roadrunner when I was in school. 440 six pack with lift off hood and a 4.88 Dana rear end. I bought the car with 18000 original miles and the only thing I did to it was put 15x7 rallies on it. I still have the window stickers and owners manual in the factory sleeve down in my office. The car is still running around Kentucky somewhere with less than 50,000 miles on it. I probably wouldn't mind having it back.
My son bought a 2003 Viper SRT 10 roadster in his senior year but he still owns it so he don't have to wish.

My first car was a 72 Challenger and I wish I could have kept it but nowhere to store it. It was just a 318 car and really slow til I replaced the worn out nylon gear timing chain set and put some headers on it. Even with the two barrel it would do killer burnouts. I ended up with a 73 Cuda I put a 440 in and that car hauled ***.

I'd like to have mine back now; 1949 Olds coupe. Rocket 88 with a 37 LaSalle transmission and a 4.44 rear. It was quick.

I don't think I got my first car until after I left college

I still have mine. It's now a beat pos and I'm thinking about crushing it.

my first car was a 67 Nova purchased in 69 didn't have drivers license yet - loved that car white with blue cloth interior bench seat 283 - 4 speed

My first car was a 1974 Mustang II. When I was 17 in 1980, my Great Uncle Patsy died. I was given his 68 Dart 270 in QQ1 blue. It had 14,000 miles on it. It is the reason I bought a 68 Dart 270 last winter. It is almost done.

heck no - first one was a hand me down Toyota Carolla.. think it was a 74 4 door. ...now my second car? yeah! A 74 Scamp /6, AT - was in great shape... until the head on that took it out.. and the one after that, yep, wish I still had it - a 71 Scamp 318, AT car.. rolled it.

1st car was a hand me down ...1953 4 door Bel Aire 230 cu in powerglide....Grandfather bought it new...dad bought it from him...oldest sister drove it...older brother drove it...I finally got it my junior year in High School...

I think it was sold to my uncle after I stopped driving it....

I had a 56 chevy with a mild build 283 moved to Portland Oregon after high school beat the bosses 327 Nova so he shows up the next day in a brand new 70 340 Dart needless to say my winning days were over

I didn't have a car in high school - had to rely on borrowing my parents car when I needed wheels.
But I sure wish I had my first Mopar back! A '69 340 Swinger that I bought slightly used. That was a great car. Too bad I got stupid some years later and turned it into a race car to run NHRA Super Street. Even worse, I sold it years later. Would have made a fun car to put back on the street.
Currently building another '69 Dart with hopes of it finally seeing the street this year.

I wish I had my 1970 Duster 340 4 speed back. I had 4.30 gears split Ralles 14x9 with JC Penny J-60 Scat Tracks on it. Had Hedman headers , Mallory Dual point and a 3310 Holley 780. It was Tor Red with red bench seat interior. Cost $2805.00 brand new! Damn that car was fun! I keep a look out for it or one just like it all the time.

1964 VW Karmann Ghia paid 160 dollars, summers worth of walking beans for a farmer.

In '73-'74 I had a '65 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible with a 352/automatic. It wasn't fast, but sure looked nice (except for the rusty rear 1/4s). I'd love to have that car today. You hardly ever see one.

My first car was a '62 Falcon, about as stripp-o as you could get. 144, 3 in the tree, no radio, vacuum wipers. Couldn't get out of it's own way. Got it in the summer between my junior & senior years of HS, had an after-school job & needed something to get me there. All in all a pretty lousy car, no desire for another one.

But I sure wish I had my first Mopar back! A '69 340 Swinger that I bought slightly used. That was a great car.

My first Mopar was a '71 Duster, 318 stick. First (and only) new vehicle I've ever owned. Put 278k on it over the next 13 years. When I finally parked it, the floor was so rusted out I was afraid I'd hit a pothole just right and the car would break in half. Never did though.
Had some good times in that car. :D

Not really. Drove a 67 Olds f-85 like the blue one, but the color of the 4-door. Had a 330 CID 2-bbl V-8, bench seats, a column shift, BW tires w/ poverty caps, and an AM radio. The best and worst feature of the car was the black bench seat interior. Black color bad for heat in Alabama, bench seat great for coed recreational activities. Glass fogged easily in humid AL PMs, too. Worst mechanical features were the 9" drum brakes. Take two long hard stops and it was safe to drive in 20 mins. The other was the two-speed auto with variable pitch torque converter. Stand on it from a start 2nd gear arrived at 65 mph. Would kick down at 60 with nothing left. Best fuel mileage, IIRC, 22.?? mpg achieved by drafting semis between Hartselle, AL and Tuscaloosa.
