Anything is fair game. I'd go for vans too, besides being a little harder to pull, I'd say they are higher of a percentage less beat on. Church van vs work truck? Fuggetaboutit.

I'm not sure where you are in Washington, but I picked up a complete low mileage 1998 R/T 5.9 Magnum out of a 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee for $500. I'll sell the PCM, fuel injection set up, and accessories to recoup my investment. It's going to be a 408 for my Dart. Bargains are out there.

Auctions are typically a crappy place to buy, lots of people there buying for wrecking yards and will suck up anything resembling a deal. Much better off on CL private party. We do avoid vans due to poor engine cooling, both from rad and engine bay. The van engines typically dont get tuned up as much either because its more expensive and a PITA to swap plugs, wires etc. People also buy vans and fill them up with people or stuff. You will find most van harnesses have wires melted together, plastic cooked etc...this is of course just my opinion from the experience of taking a few apart. We learned to avoid them, except for PS/AC bracket!

I have a couple of early 72 standard bore blocks with car oil pans kicking around. If not 88-91 roller cam la blocks would be best choice
