What are your thoughts on this cam?

I run the XR-292-10 in my 440. I can see by your dyno numbers that I'm leaving plenty of power on the table at this point. I have cnc Steallth heads and close to 11.5 to 1. So far its gone 121.4 mph in the 1/4 mile and my car weighs exactly 3500#with me in it. It has not been dyno tested but the power/speed calculator I checked says its 500 at the wheels and I'm running an A-518 overdrive and a Strange nine inch so I know those are soaking up plenty, I figure about 75 hp right there. I have still not really fine tuned it so I'm sure there's power to be had there and I'm also running an out of the box Torker II so it fits under the flat hood so that's probly 20-25 hp right there compared to a Victor or M1. What intake and carb did you use on the 451? To the OP, I can say that my XR-292 is very streetable. The idle is rough but not radical and cruises in traffic and on the highway at 3000rpm beautifully. My car even gets 12 mpg on the highway with this cam.
If nothing else it will be an interesting cam to run. It is one size smaller than the XR292R that bob is running which as bob remembered is 254/260 @ .050.

On 03/03/2006, before we had our own dyno, we ran a 9.7:1 compression 451 stroker with our ported 452 iron heads and used the XR292R solid roller. These are the dyno results:

Now, the XR286R as a street/strip option for a 440, yeah it ought to be exciting.
