1st gen barracuda with power steering and column shifter? That is like the triple defeat of header hopes

Sanderson headers and especially Carlos stepped up to make it happen. And with black ceramic paint. Also opted to upgrade my exhaust and add an H pipe

I can feel the increase in power. And she sounds a little meaner

!!Cuell!!

...........Just got back from their website.........I assume this is a custom made set?

Looking at the pics you linked to they look highly modified.

Over $500 to buy them then what was it to modify them?

wasn't that much to modify - do not have details

I also had them redo the exhaust and mufflers. All the materials and work wasn't bad at all

not much to modify.. wa it $50 or was it $500 to do? there has to be some kind of ball park figure.

I think he means that he did not have to cut or bend the headers, just hook his exhaust up to them. Look like they fit real good, better than my DD7s. Mine would have never worked with the stock rag joint and other "mods".

There was not a detailed SOW, to modify was a few $100 or less

I had a lot of work done, headers, plus coating, plus modification, new exhaust, H pipe and magnaflow mufflers and of course installation. So a few hundred more than TTI headers

Modified (or semi-custom) dd8

https://www.sandersonheaders.com/sanderson-dd8-header-set-for-small-block-chrysler-engines.html

These are shorties. and with the exhaust work, woke up the car a little bit

I have to tell you that comparing your photo of your driver side to the graphics of those headers, that cannot possibly be the same ones...........or they've radically modified the front tube(s).

Here's an earlier thread

Lets call those Sandersons dd8.1's as the #1 tube is completely rerouted from the originals. Looks lie its a better design anyway with #1 coming up and back and #3 going between the strter and the block. I modded some 67 Supercomps like that for my '65, tucking the #3 down there and running #1 back like that. Still in progress.

does it matter? I am comfortable with the price and the turn around was fast (dropped off Late Friday picked up Tuesday morning ).

Sorry I posted, at least it gave some people with a lot of free time to search around

Don't be sorry it may happen that Sanderson will change their design now and for the better! I say thanks for helping out the hobby and a Bay Area business!

I don't think anyone is attacking you. They just want to know what was done and can they get a set. As you know, early A headers are as common as Bigfoot pelts.

holy overly sensitive man.. lighten the hell up dude.

yes it does matter. we are asking to see if its an option for us to do a similar mod. we figured thats why you posted in the first place. to show us how ya got them to fit with power steering.

if its a $50-$100 mod then sweet it could be a anice option for some of us..

if its a $300-$500 mod then it may push it over the limit for many especially after spending over $500 for the headers to begin with.

I was looking at the co. that made them hopping to find another way out for my 66 and now I see it is still very pricy, but very well dun set of headers. I will be doing super comp, fenderwell headers, the best for me and my build so far. Happy to see my money was well spent now that I see what the cost was to get his to fit in his early A body, glad he shared and thank you cudajames, I agree, everyone just wanted the cost and what had to be dun sir.

This is great for early a owners. You do have a choice ya no. You can not run headers and use your manifolds or pay the price. Its called saving for a rainy day.
