I am requesting information on what body type (classification - A-Body, B-Body), the A100 truck and van fell into. I know the truck body is a uni-body, and am interested in if there are any parts suppliers out there for replacement sheet metal.

thanks

Welcome to FABO - I think they get categorized as A bodies

aren't they just an "A" series truck?[/QUOTE

I believe you are right. In the Dodge Pickups History and Restoration Guide 1918-1971 they are described as: A 100 and A 108 Compact Van and the A 100 Pickup. Appears they were their own platform and not based on any car or full sized pickup platform.

The story goes that Chrysler's engineers went out and bought 10 Econoline vans and dismantled them and even cut one of them up and decided that they could improve on that design and basically that is where the platform evolved from.

As far as parts, there is not very much being repopped for the A series or the D series trucks. There is a sister site "For Trucks Only" which has some parts and owners with knowledge you may be able to use. Usual high priced E-Bay stuff. You can also try Sweptline.org, a lot of pickup owners also have A series stuff for sale also.

I've got a buddy who is nearing completion of his 1969 A-100 pickup. I remember being surprised that there really isn't anyplace on the body to put a jack under if the rear is out. From being underneath one of these trucks its clear there is nothing underneath that is shared with any of the passenger cars.

Thanks everyone for your responses. As for parts, I went to LMC Trucks website, but could not find anything. Maybe I didn't thoroughly enough. Will try to give them a call just to confirm.
