What about adding the lower 1st and 2nd gears, help out with the mild gears out back and still have a good cruising rpm.

As I mentioned above, I'm doing everything I can to be sure that the tranny doesn't "aid" me in reaching my goals. I just don't want it breaking or leaking. This build is truly about throwing a skimpy 500 dollar budget at a 318 2bbl in the car.
