11:1 compression ratio.

Looking to buy a reliable starter.... many on the market.. MSD, powermaster etc,,,

What is your experience and do recommend?

OEM 90's-00's Dakota/Ram starter. Cheap and reliable. Lots of folks use them with great success on high compression engine. Unless you need something clock-able?

I always tell the guys at NAPA I need one for a 95 dodge 1500 with a 360. I put them on everything now, so much better than the old ones. I have a 12 to 1 compression 440 in one of my cars and it starts great.

I have ran one from a v8 93 Dakota for years with no issues. It's about 14 years old and has been on three engines, a 11.4-1 340, 10.9-1 408 and now on a 11.2-1 434.

That's what I used on my Commando 273, changed from the old style to a used Dakota starter for $50. I can't believe how much faster it turns over. And the extra room is a bonus!

Mid 90's ram used from junk yard, been on my car since 2000, just put contacts and plunger in it last summer. The motors last forever.

Somebody on E-bay had them (the magnum starters) for $59 new and combined shipping so I bought two last time.

Fellas there's a HUGE difference in quality between "remanufactured" and new new new..............

One 'o my rebuilts ate the starter drive (clutch slips). That might not be too much fun if/ when the car goes back together with Doug's headers
