Anyone know cheapest way to ship things like headers, got price of 47$ seems expensive but they are 18 #. How does everyone else do it , thanks.

$47 doesnt seem bad really. Ive paid more, way more. If you are shipping within your own country, maybe try by bus(Greyhound)??

Size matters now. Use the smallest box that protects the product. Try UPS, Fedex, ship to commercial address is also cheaper. Box it yourself. Boxes are usually free if you ask.

FEDEX usually surprises on packages about that size. I have had good luck with them in the past.

Fedex usually works better for large light stuff. USPS seems to rely on volume of box. F you get a Fedex account (free) you get about a 10-20% discount if you book the shipment online, and print the label. I take it to the Fedex store down the street and just put it on the counter, they scan it and say thanks. Greyhound package express got expensive when the gas went up and didnt come down.

Great ideas , thanks, trying to sell some parts cheap but shipping seems to be a deal breaker,

Fastenall will also ship store to store very reasonable.

Fastenal must be a unique setup. many stores scattered around. I was looking for some blind steel rivets for spur making. they will get them from a store of theirs in Alabama!!!

certainly worth a try there for shipping....

The shipping distance also matters. I have a pending sale of a set of slant 6 long tube headers from VA to CA, 25 lbs in a 40 x 16 x 16 box. FedEx wanted $90 plus and believe it or not USPS is less expensive at $66!

Absolutely, and another good point, try all carriers. I've also heard good things about Fastenal.

I got a set of fenderwells from a member via usps bubble wrapped to the gills for like $30 bucks!
