classic industries 68 cuda headlight bezels

Hi Y'all,

I am looking at the classic industries 68 cuda headlight bezels. Mine are shot, and at $300 a side to refurb, i think the ones from classic industries are a deal at $450 for new if you can call $450 a deal lol. Anyways i know the 68s have an extra screw hole, but other than that, do they fit the same as on a 67? My 67 is not going to be 100 point show original anyways. I dont mind drilling an extra hole in the fender for an additional mounting screw.

Well I don't know the answer directly but, I have a 68 I'm building and if you send me a picture of it or count the holes I can check my bezels.

Just to letcha know, many of the 68 Cuda Guys prefer the 67 Headlight Bezel because they feel it is a cleaner look w/o the side bolt hole. They still bolt up the same.

I would stay away from drilling the hole. The OEM hole has been chamfered, which you will have a hard time duplicating with Aluminum.

If you have the opportunity to go with OEM parts for your Cuda, I highly recommend it. I think you will find sending a decent core pair to me for redo will far exceed the repros and at 220 each, it's worth the reassurance of knowing your OEM Stuf is gonna work PERFECTLY.

I'm interested in the overall quality fit and finish of the classic industries re-pops...i'm looking at a set for my 68 Fastback

As an aircraft sheetmetal structures mechanic fabricator, I have been able to duplicate the pressed in countersinks in aluminum and steel sheet . Its not actually a chamfer, rather its pressed as a countersink.

I have various steel blocks with countersinks in them. These are fit behind the hole you are wanting to press into a countersink. Then you fit a countersink machine screw into the hole from the front side, and thru the block with the countersink, and attach a nut the the end of the screw, and tighten down pulling the screw in pressing the metal into a countersink shape.

However the 68 bezels already have an additional hole in them, all i have to do is add a small drill hole to each fender for the additional screws. As long as they fit the same as a 67 thats the important thing, since they are listed as 68, and i would be putting them on a 67.
