Carbon canister

YA it serves me right I was not so kind about him in the past,live and learn.:eek:ops:

Admittin it on open forum is big of you. I don't think Del would ignore that. He is a class act. But then so are you. We all have our faults and make mistakes.
 
This is on a 75 slant Duster, but should be same. There is a notch in metal that allows it to hug the frame as it makes the turn. There is another slight bend below.

My 75 318 only has one hose going to the carb. The port on the canister that is closest to the passenger fender has a cap on it.
 
Now that is saaaaaaaweet pic,you have help big time.I have got some 1/4 line is that the right size.

It might be a canister for a different year vehicle. Mine has the "purge" port fused solid. I think it may be from an 89 Jeep or something. I put a canister purge valve, something like this http://www.autozone.com/emission-co...canister-purge-valve/68752_0_0/?checkfit=true

on mine where the smaller line (valve) goes to a ported vacuum source on the carb and the bigger lines connect the canister output to the carb. That way the carb only pulls fumes when there is a vacuum on the ported line.

Or, it could be stock and you have a different system...

Highly unlikely mine is not stock. My grandmother bought the car brand new and it's never had an outside mechanic touch the car for over 37 years.
 
What could i use for tubing,that is easy to bend for the vent line.I have some 1/4 steel tube but is real hard to bend there are some real tight bends ,i do not have a tube bender,just trying to make it easy on me.

If no one near can lend you one, just buy one for your tool crib. It will come in handy for fuel lines and brake lines. Plus if one of your neighbours needs to borrow one, you can be the hero who lends it out. Trying to bend line without one will almost certainly lead to buying more line; Canadian Tire sells them for $20.

Well I guess 1 could always use another tool in the box.
