Well I "took the day off"

Well I DID go back on my word for an hour late this afternoon. Went around back, threw the tools, charger, booster cables, and compression tester and some starting fluid in the Ranger, then drove out front where the "new" 72 Scamp slant is parked. I did get it fired up, not pretty. Won't idle. Don't know if it's old fuel, carb problems, or just what.

Depending on how I feel, I may throw a can of gas on the roof and let it feed into the carb, see how it does with fresh fuel.

Points were corroded, had to mess with them. I had forgotten just what a PITA it is to work on slant distributors. It has new rotor / cap/ wires, so I spose the points "were" new at some point.
