1967 barracuda rear leafspring hanger driver side rusted out how hard is it to install a new one and is it welded in or bolted in any help would be thankful

The rear spring hangars are bolted to the tail frame rail through the use of nut plates inside it. You'll probably want to post a pic of the area so you can get some better advice, but going by your description, it sounds to me like your tail frame rail is rusted out. This may be the perfect time to do a spring relocation if the rear frame rails are strong enough for it.

Rear frame rail good rear driver side rear leaf spring hanger by the bumper rusted through the hanger not frame rail is this par wielded on or bolt

I had to replace a rusted hanger on mine and ended up replacing the shackle because one stud snapped off when I tried to loosen it. So keep that in mind and you might as well replace the rubber bushings while you have it apart. Once you unbolt the shackle raise the car from the frame until the spring is in a neutral spot. Usually this is with just a little bit of weight on the tire. At this point locate the two 3/8 bolts that hold the hanger on and remove them. Work the hanger and shackle back and forth to slide it out.

Still difficult to understand without a picture, but here goes. Rear leaf spring hangar is bolted to tail frame with two bolts, using nut plates inside it. Stock shackles are attached to those brackets with two nuts holding them on; one pin through the bracket and the other through the leaf spring. You remove the nuts and then remove one side of the shackle, then work the bracket off of the shackle.

Somewhere on this site there are free manuals that should show a diagram of that area.

OK Maybe I was wrong for saying leaf spring hanger I should've said leafspring mounting bracket The part is made by auto metal direct part number865-1067-2L From Summit racing Has anybody installed one of these

I believe those pieces are welded in. I've never owned a vehicle rusted bad enough where I've had to replace those.

Hopefully somebody else can provide some input on this one. Bump for you.
