Did all 1975 Dusters get a thumb lock on the steering column or just the console cars.
I have a 75 360 Duster with buckets no console without the thumb lock on the column and just wondered if it had been changed or not.
Thanks DAve

Mine was a column car and has no thumb lock. My 72 Charger is a console shift and has the thumb lock.

What is a thumb lock?

Prevents column from being locked. My older Ranger had one (floor shift 5 speed) Prevents you from locking the column if trying to turn off the engine in an emergency

EDIT Meant to add the 75 column shift Val I just junked had no thumb lock

Ok,thanks. Never had one on any of the cars I've owned but they've all been older than 75

I am almost sure, my 72 challanger had one. Might be wrong it has been a while since I have seen that car, was a 340 4 speed car. BUT I did have one with it, I remember having to "unlock" it many times.

All consol cars from 1970 up and all manual floor shift cars had the thumb lock u asked about I do not know on the manual column shift cars though. Kim. Manuals for 70 up

Thanks Guys, thanks Kimmer,
I guess I forgot , it is an Automatic on the column. Factory Buckets.
Thanks Dave
