Damsel in distress

Have a man friend put a socket and breaker bar on the crank bolt at the front and attempt to turn the engine by hand. Turn it clockwise. If it turns, that's good. If not, that's bad.Something probably broke internally. It could have dropped a valve and jammed it up.I'd be interested to see if the plug with the wire off has the electrode smashed flat.

There are plenty of used, running Slant sixes floating around FABO, but somewhere there could be an issue putting a later engine in front of an early trans. I sure as hell would not invest money in a rebuilt longblock slant engine.

A lot of those things run good for a good long time, but when they wear out they usually get things over with quickly by slinging a rod out the side. When I hear Slant six and bang in the same sentence I prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

Don't give up though. There's a lot of good people here and one of these big strowghh menn will help you out:D
