So I found a rad for my project, it is the Griffin Thermal Products 1-25222-x. Dimensions are 26 wide, 19 high and 3" thick. It is a universal type aluminum rad that I plan on fabricating my own brackets. The old rad I had was a stock unit and not 3" thick. Will this rad fit with my mechanical fan? I plan on using a Derale flex fan.

Too thick for WHAT pray tell?

How much room do you have now between the fan and stock rad you have in the car now? Take that, measure your stock rad, compare it to the new 3" rad subtract the difference.

I don't have the old rad anymore and basically wondering if a 3" thick rad will fit with a mechanical fan?

Do you remember what clearance you had with your old unit? You probably will have enough room but you may need a different spacer or clutch. Just depends on the car and engine combo and A/C can make a difference too.

I`ve got a 28x19 crossflow a, alum. radiator that is 3" thick in my 440/505" fastback, 1/2" fan spacer- mech. fan, no clutch.
