not that any of this matters, more for my curiosity than anything, i picked up a 74 dart sport, factory 318/904,p/s,p/b, a/c car. someone had a 360 in the car, it had these headers on it, they cleared everything. the torsion bars, oilfilter. no dents in the tubes, no leaning on or hitting anywhere, although way too close for my liking to the stock size starter, but cleared none the less. they only hang maybe 2 inches below the trans pan and are not very long either. i can't find a number or name on them, seem very well made, and, they are going back into service. just wondering if anyone here might be familiar with them....

Yup. Those are the run of the mill Summit/Hedman/whosever economy header. Like I been preachin for years, they fit fine.

You cannot tell that to anybody though because everybody wants to spend a grand for Dougs or TTI.

the passenger side rear tube still slips apart, and looks like a few others did too, but, over time, have been welded up. i will be running a later 89-93 3.9/5.2/5.9 gear reduction starter for extra clearance around the lower tubes though....

Oh so they slip apart? Then they are a little higher end than Summit and the like. None of those slip apart and you have to disassemble some of the steering linkage to fit it through the tubes.

That never bothered me but I have seen people on here complain about it for pages. If those slip apart, they are pretty nice. Probably the higher end Hedman or possibly Hooker.

They are all bent about the same, but since those slip apart, they are a little nicer.

I looked on the Summit site and there is nothing close to them. I wonder what the heck they are.

I have some Hookers that do not slip apart but the geometry is different than his.The driver side tube covers the two rear plugs pretty good and his looks to have better access.

on the car, they were above and behind the steering linkage. i was amazed how well they fit and cleared everything, without being beat all to pieces.....guess i will clean them up, spray on some high heat paint and re-use them. it's just a beater...lol

Yeah. I am kinda interested in what they are. superbyrd, have you looked everywhere for a part number? Flanges and all?

i have looked them over real thoroughly, i got nothing. no part number, tags, emblems, nothing. i have looked around at various manufacturers pics of B-body, E-body, C-body, etc. small block headers, and i haven't found any with the tube placement like these....

I guess it is possible they are some well made custom pieces.

I thought they looked like an old Doug Thorly set when I first saw them.
Its been 3 decades since I've had a small block so I don't completely trust
my memory.

Looks similar to Doug Thorley's. THY-153. Haven't been made for at least a decade.
Maybe a different version though, as the 153 was #7 slip, see picture.

this looks like a regular run of the mill cheepo header.. th eheadmans i had on my dart cleared everything without dents or interference too. but they hung low.. dougs and tti are well worth the money for the added ground clearance to me.

what is this header? its not the same driverside header as the other pics you posted. looks like a dougs to me...
