Steering Wheel Removal

did mine yesterday on 72 dart. just like your wheel

the hard part is getting the center cap off without loosing the tabs. ....

I didn't realise that there were lose parts coming off when I remove the cover.

Isn't it rather getting the center cap off without breaking the retainers? When I pull at it, that thing moans and squeaks and crackles, but it won't let go. Don't want to break it.

Are there plastic clips, or metal prongs?
Pry it loose with a screwdriver? Just tear it off with an effort?
One arm at a time, or all three simultaneously?
Any funny moves, or some outlandish tricks with a special tool?

I am talking about the inner section:

Or should I go for big mama?

Thank you all!
