Taking he dash out to paint my needles and clean the cluster I bumper the ammeter positive wire and blew something where would this fuze be? Thanks

Fuses are located under your dash, by your drivers side vent. However I would look at the fusable link. Which is located in your engine bay, near the bulk head connector.

That is going to be the fusible link that you blew under the hood most likely.
Ask me how I know. :D

Look for it coming right out of the bulkhead connector.

I had the ammeter and dash disconnected already I knew better but thought I knew better....

I always have a self resetting circuit breaker instead of something that has to burn up under the hood when it works as designed. :D

It automatically resets in about 3 seconds.

I do still disconnect the battery though, and we have all done something we knew better and did it anyway.
Lord knows I have many a time.

All is alive didn't even blow the inline fuze I have to get under the car soon I pulled the speedo cable to lube and it won't go back all the way, ehh I also need to adjust the shift gate on the auto so it lines up anyway

The service manual has good info on the shift gate and kick down rod adjustments. Both are easy to follow.

Gremlin? Dunno cleaned everything checked link was ok put it all back and started up

The link itself cant heal. The OEM fusible link had a service disconnect. If you did have a brief open circuit condition, in that or the bulkhead terminals would be my guess. Something you cleaned or wiggled while cleaning was the fault.
Speedo cable and sheathe makes 90 degree turn under the drivers seat area. That's where the cable tip normally hangs, refuses to push through that turn. Jack the car up, go under and disconnect from trans or... Reach under and remove sheathe from under a sheet metal strap and wiggle it around a bit has worked for me.
