what battery for trunk?

I relocated my battery to the trunk. Im looking at vent options. I had a battery tray laying around that i am using but its not sealed. I see some batteries have nipples for tube vents. Just looking for advise on what to get. Really would like to go optima but price is out of question right now

any make , big, sealed battery .
 
Optima is a sealed battery, no vents. no vent worries.
 
My Optima is 16 years old this year. But it didn't hold a charge over winter this year.On a $/per year basis, this is the cheapest battery I have ever owned. I mighta paid $160Can(all taxes in) for it, back in 2000.So that would be $10 per year.
The terminals have never needed freshening
Just saying.

Holy cow that a long time. I have a walmart battery going on 5 years old and i thought that was good lol
 
ALL batteries vent, even the AGM types like the Optima as well as all sealed lead acids; any overcharging of an AGM will activate the vent under pressure.. To do it the right way, put it in a box that is fairly well sealed, and provide a PVC tube to the outside, usually below the trunk floor.

Any other venting into the truck area, or regular airflow will help, and may make the tube vent not necessary. The objective is to remove or highly dilute any hydrogen gas.
