Made a few passes with the 434 small block last week

Thanks for all the info. I've always ran big block Mopars. But I like the indea of the big cube small blocks, less weight & more room under the hood.
Look forward to seeing where you end up at with yours. Keep us posted.

The factor for converting 1/8 to 1/4 mile is 1.57. 6.50 x 1.57 = 10.20 Very good time for a street car. I have a 10-1 340 in a 68 cuda, i use 91 octane, glad you have no problems with an 11.2-1 on 93.

what size carb are you running , what is your timing and your front jets ?
I seem fat out of the hole and lean at top with my 650, and going to a 750 next week .
almost seems like my idlers are hitting to hard at launch and I"m getting hesitation .
after that its a solid pull ,but a hair lean m1 intake 360 +.030 no time slips yet

Good first outing Justin. I think it will go a lot faster. 6.30's

I'm running a Bigs 950HP, 73s and 84s but it shows a little lean. More T&T LOL.

The cam and lifters are from Comp.

D50, I hope you're right, I still have to play with the jetting and try some more timing. Brett thinks it will make more power with more timing, it only has 34° total in it now. Brett's a sharp guy so I'm going to try it. It made peak hp at 6750 so it will probably need to be shifted around 7200. So far I've only made one shift that high and it was on the 6.50 pass. For some reason my the shift light on my tach won't re-set from 6000, every time I re-set it the darn thing goes back to 6000. I also need to talk to Lenny next week about my converter.

This thing is a hoot to drive, it pulls hard from everywhere.

Mine made peak horse power at 7300 but I shift at 6800. Brett has been telling me I need to set my timing at 40*, he said mine made the most power on the dyno at 40*. I am just leary of that much timing on pump gas. I also still have a lot of tuning to do on my 1050. It is pretty rich.

I spoke to Lenny at Ultimate today, the converter is too loose and will have to go back. Hopefully there is a little ET there.
