1965 Dart Gt 904 Trans Shift Cable Help.

I have a 65 Dart GT with the factory floor shifter. It originally has the two cable set up, with one cable for park. I am installing a newer 904 without the park cable. I want to use the original floor shifter, but the cable throw is much shorter than the newer 904, that has the typical shift linkage with the kickdown on top. Can anyone point me in the right direction to set up the old cable with the newer 904 linkage? I can fabricate most anything, but the shorter cable throw is going to be a nightmare as I see it now.

I noted your post on using a later model 904 in your 65 Dart. How did you come out on this application. I am installing a 66 904 in my 65 dart and I would like to maintain the 65 console. I tried Imperial, Atlas Obsolete, and others, and it seems that no one could help me on this. Any advice you could give me would be great. Thanks. Old Dart 66
