floor pans

Make sure to save the seat mount reinforcements if the new pans don't come with them. They will need to be transferred...
 
Have floor pans cut out, but the rain decided to start again. I rolled the car back in the garage. Now I have to decide whether to go to Farmington drag and car show tomorrow. All Mopar and I have been planning this. Or do I stay home and get some experience welding the pans in place. I still need to clean the cuts up some.

Today is the first day I have had to work on the floor pans. I got up early to find we have rain showers all day. Mt plans to roll the car outside to do the pans are on hold. Hope tomorrow will be dry.
 
are you doing 4 separate pieces? Do you have formed pans or just sheet metal?
 
Formed pcs. Doing the passenger side. 2 pcs. Have cut out and ready to go. Just prefer to not weld in the garage.
 
Garage is part of the house with my bedroom overhead and my sons connected to it as well. Rain has stopped, have to see if it dries up

I also have attached garage. I have welded in there, but minimal and with the door open. I keep my car outside. it was tarped for a couple years..so I didn't have to bale it out between working on it. Will be again soon when I work on the doors. I did the formed pans up front and a couple small pieces in back. that one looks pretty easy. I would just lay it on and stitch around. Use weld thru primer between and (I didn't know about that when I did my floors, but used it on most of my body repairs) Just seal it really well from underneath if you overlap. That's where I used the Black Jack Neoprene roof caulk.

I am going to build a portable booth to do the paint later this year
 
Well, scratch the floor pans today. I have my 6 month old granddaughter while my daughter goes to the Dr and look at a new house with her husband. Shall I say, maybe tomorrow
 
Rain for the next week. Really need to get out of the garage to do the welding. Everything good with you and yours
 
Wishing you the best. Quit and total healing. The way our weather has been, if we have a dry day I am either working, 2 days a week, or mowing the lawn. Buying a home with a large yard seemed like a good idea when I did it, but now I spend a half a day with a riding mower instead of working on the car.
 
Rain has temporarily ended, is it safe to try to work on welding the floor pans if the concrete dive is very damp. Rain supposed to start again late afternoon. Most rain this month in over 100 years.
 
Working Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday I should be home and able get some work done on my floors
weather says sunny and low 80's. Certainly hope this plan holds up
 
Okay, weather is good for tomorrow. Question, if part of the floor pan is lapped in do I weld from the top and bottom or just the top
watching u tube videos seem to show both ways. Never have done this before and really want to do it correctly.

in a perfect world that would be the way to go, but... no. that's where I used the neoprene roof caulk. if you really want to do it 'right' you probably either need to do the entire pan as the factory did or butt weld pieces in, so nothing overlaps.
 
Oh well, I just got a call and have to work tomorrow. So Thursday will be my first opportunity to work on my car

That W__k is a cuss word.... Seems like its raining... Or you gotta W__k.... Car time is Play time... Just saying ⚓
 
So far this morning . I have a lot to learn about welding. U tube is good, but until you are actually making an attempt, it's a different story. Will check back later
