Alright, full disclosure... This isn't my car, I'm trying to help out a friend (I can't stand reading that in ads either.. Sorry). What your money goes to here is a solid body, and a low mileage car. I've seen it in person, the underside is great. The owner is trying to flip the car. My buddy has gone in on it with him to make a little change. Nobody's dead grandfather owned it. The ad originally said $15,000.. I'm 99% sure the owner will accept 10k. It's been on EBay, and it's for sale three miles from me. So, the cat's out of the bag. If I had 10k, I'd snag it tomorrow as a DD knowing that it wasn't a show car, I could leave it in the rain without worrying about rust, and enjoy driving it without wiping it with a diaper. Also, at 50k miles.. You know the motor and trans will keep going for years. The car's in Winchester, VA.

Yep, definitely a 904. BTW, very nice car. If you look at the fender tag, it is stamped D31 and the breakdown shows D31 as light duty trans 904. GLWTS

The front fenders --- what happened to the side lamps / reflectors area ? The trim around the front headlamp extension piece? Are both bumpers painted?

What does the ownership history documentation look like?

Yeah, the ad is written wrong. Not sure what happened to the front markers.. The car needed a refresh so it got a paint job. That made the bumpers and door handles stick out like a sore thumb, so they got painted instead of leaving them pitted and rusted (When do you stop going down the rabbit hole?). Wouldn't have been my design choices, I would've left it with crappy paint like all the rest of my cars.. I like driving them.

I don't mean to offend, but if you're looking for ownership history documentation, you might be missing the point of this car. Think of it as a reliable used car that isn't some soul sucking commuter coffin. Questionable choices? sure. Change them as you drive it, and keep your show car in the garage. Sort of like buying the Porsche Speedster replica so that you can enjoy driving one instead of clenching your butt every time you walk near your $300,000 real one.
