In the process of installing these magnums in non AC/PS cars while still using superior serpentine belt system we quickly realized the need for a better solution other than ugly Dorman AC compressor delete pulley. Here is our solution, which will be available after a bit of road testing, some CNC code writing and some water jet table time. They should be available for sale by mid summer, made in USA and come with bracket, tentioner and belt. This is assuming anybody even wants one. So now is the chance to share your opinions. We all know you super shy FABO guys have problems sharing your opinion with others.

Comments like "thats awesome, I want one", "Gross, that looks like Yugo poop", "I will never run anything but a V belt" or "Why would I buy that from you when I can make one in 4-6 hours" will be gladly accepted without fear of tire slashing retaliation....just need to figure out if I should send it out to CAD or not. Your input is greatly appreciated.

With a little CNC action it'll look OEM. Maybe shape the bracket more like a figure eight...give it a waist?

What's not to love?? Good job :)

I like the idea, but not a big fan of the look. Maybe just me but I'd prefer something that looked a little more like a march bracket.

What's the round thing between your bracket and the pulley? The tensioner?

Any plans for a ps only delete solution?

We could do fancy aluminum billet piece but not sure if it would sell for price needed to cover billet cost. We are trying to keep it inexpensive. The tentioner on stock system w AC and PS its on pass side by coil. I purposely didnt paint tentioner so you could see it. Its pretty easy to ditch PS if keeping AC.

i could see a need for one, probably sell some too, if the price is right, this mounts stock tensioner. think its a great idea, now about cheap fuel injection for under 500...........

I like it. Is it a stock tensioner, to keep the cost down?

I thought about an extra idler in that area, and the stock tensioner, but I'm a long ways from even doing more than just wondering about it so I have no idea if it could even work.

Yea, stock tensioner turned upside down. Tried idler but didnt like how it worked out. We are planning on keeping it low buck, factory available part. Target price bracket w new tensioner and USA made belt $100-$125. Probably sell bracket by itself for $45-$49. We will see as it gets a lot cheaper if you make 150 rather than 30 units. Water jet time aint cheap!

Honestly what are the real number advantages to deleting power steering and ac? Does it really hurt performance that bad?

Like I said, trying to keep bracket under $50 and kit with tentioner and belt for $125-$135 ish. Well, I dont know about FI for under $500 but how about a harness for $500, maybe $599. That way you can grab everything else for cheap then all you have to buy is harness and fuel system. Of course if you want to optimize tuning and performance, you would want to flash pcm although we have lots of guys running stock pcm with great results. Cant get much cheaper than that, hell, a low end intake and carb are over $500. :)

Its not for performance, its for A bodies that dont have AC or PS and to eliminate a bunch of bulky parts you are not using. I have 5 A's we are currently building and only 1 has PS and its not getting AC as its a vert.

The brackets a good idea. The cheap fuel injection was more of a joke, but if it were able to have a kit to utilize factory magnum setup to support mild 300hp gross ? Fuel pump, wire harness connectors, module, directions, ? Maybe unrealistic , but bet would sell,

If I was to do something like this with my Magnum it would be re-incorporate the AC and alternator but drop the power steering. But I probably will never get around to doing that so please don't consider my input justification for doing a bunch of R&D. And I commend you for creating products like this for the Magnum crowd. Keep up the good work!

Well right now, we sell a harness for $600, all the factory stuff is free with your magnum purchase and a 300 hp build will run on factory pcm flash so you only need fuel pump/tank/lines which we sell tank w pump for $500 and fuel line kit can be as cheap as $150. Not too bad considering my competition sells harness for $1000 or more and that doesnt come with free tech support like ours does.

I got ya. I just see people all over worried about deleting accessories for performance. My buddy who drag races is so pissed that I am leaving air in my car and says I have been watching too much tv. I know if I wanted it to be a full blown drag car yeah you would but in that context everything else would have to go too.

You know how to handle that, right? Build your engine nice and strong then kick his *** at the strip because with AC turned off, it doesnt steal even 1/2 HP....fast cars with AC are cool as ****!! Pun intended

LOL I'd like to but I have a long way to go to beat that car. Its a 70 cuda 440 blown big block. He runs 6.40s in the 1/8th and mid 10s in the quarter.

Currently running magnum top end on LA 360 stroker block. Would your set up work for me if I only wanted to run a/c, no power steering? If so, definitely interested in a low buck alternate.

Its not tough to delete PS while retaining AC, its tough to delete both. You oculd just replace PS with idler. If we got more response to either, we would make it but so far we may just make them in house for our cars. Cant justify expense of CNC code and water jet time for 10 brackets.

Love what you're doing here. Im keeping ac and ps in this car, but will eventually build a track only car. This would be the hizzy there

Personally, I am old and my hands are thrashed so I like A/C, PS and lots of HP. I just picked up another Dart, 67 270 V8 AT AC PS blah blah. Its getting some HP with OD, AC and PS but I have an almost finished 64 that I am not going to add AC and PS is about as close to a PITA as you can get if you want exhaust. It doesnt need PS anyway so thats why I came up with bracket. 68 Valiant has neither so I will need at least 2. If I dont put AC and PS then I am not nearly as inclined to keep them because its hard to drive em ...

That's probably smart. I'd only see myself doing it if I couldn't it was going in an off-highway car and high RPM stability was important but PS and A/C weren't practical to add. Last time I drove one without PS I didn't care even in the parking lot. For a beater I don't mind non-air, for something other people would ride in it's good.

Usually the stuff worth fixing that's out there now had A/C, sometimes PS in A body's cases- it's not hard enough to add it if it didn't on As.

Needs moar turbo.

On his note, that's what I think. If you were gonna do it, you'd want to have a good solid pump, easy to install harness, and as minimal a list of inexpensive pull-off items as possible. Designing a solid mounting system for the Mag sensor onto an LA block that would be bolt-on would be wise too. Like an optional part of the kit.

Ideal would be instructions on how to use that with the stock OBD-II PCM or Megasquirt.

I think I missed something....Infecteddog, are you saying the pulley wont work at high rpm or ...? As far as injection, we already do it, sell a harness with full tech support , sell a fuel tank WITH in tank pump and sender, a fuel system with regulator/filter and flash pcm's. We have no intention of building a bracket to install a crank sensor on an LA block, its cheaper to install a magnum short block. We don't deal with LA blocks at all, unless you are buying EQ heads to install on it. we don't even sell LA cams, its all magnum here, all day, 24/7 365.

Nope. I'm saying the opposite. I'm saying that's the reason I'd care enough to not be cobbling together a solution.

On the tank, system, harness thing I'm meaning that's your injection kit.

It's cheaper to install a Magnum short block if you have one. I have an LA block with the Mag sensor- nothing fancy mounting it like you'd want to see in an EFI kit though. I can see myself doing the same kinda thing on my 340 block to run fool infection as well. Infect all the blocks, y'know?

I have seen people braze or even epoxy 2 nuts to LA block. Not the way we do it in the shop but it worked fine for owner.
the magnum block just has two raised pads cast on it that are drilled and tapped.
