front tires...

-
That's a really tall tire for the front, 4" back space should work ok. But the biggest on the front with out any trouble that I have found is a 205 60 15. Maybe a 215 if the car isn't sitting to low.
On my Cuda I ran a 235 60 14 and it cleared on stock rally rims. But they are probably a good inch lower over the 15" rims.

Not without a little fender clearance. The photos show a 26'' tall tire(same height as a 235/60/15) on a 64 Dart. I had to trim the lower front of the fenders to clear during turns. Had to do the same on a 63 Valiant.
Not the best photos I hope you can see the triming. First photo the car is lifted on the rack a few inches.Last photo the fender has been trimed.

I forgot to ask, how wide of a rim are you using?

I got wide 14 inch rally wheels on my 65 formula S and slightly wider on the back, but all are 14 inch Mopar rally wheels to replace the original 14 inch wheels. Actually the car originally had 13 inch wheels until I replaced the front end with a disc brake kit and rear end upgraded to 8.25 rear from original dinky 7 inch rear. My entire mechanical system has been rebuilt and car was on a rotisserie even upgraded driveshaft to modern ujoint for simplicity and reality of maintenance. Dual brake line set up ect. Its a driver and set up for driving around for fun! I invested my money so far in it for the joy of driving it and seeing people look at it and go what is that! Next expense is the body and paint saving up for that down the road, just drive it now go to shows and evenings at local places others hang out! Its a big boy toy as I refer to it to my wife!

Ok, another tire size tutorial needed here? Tire sizes are read as follows, using your size as an example!

235= the width of the tread in millimeters, or 235mm
60= the height of the sidewall in relation to the tread width, or 60 percent of 235mm (141mm)
15= the diameter of the rim, or 15"

So, will it fit? I can't say, although it is a very large tire for the front of an early A! Geof

235/60 - 15 on all 4 corners
Mounted on SBP Coys C5 polished 15 x 7 with 4" offset. Suspension front and rear are non issues. Wheel lips clear by +3/4". Some concern with hard lock turns with loaded suspension but, I can certainly raise the front if needed.

thats the best big tire fitment pic I have seen. The backs look the closest at the front rocker.
