How much horsepower is too much for small bolt pattern stuff?

Hey guys, just curious what you thought about small bolt pattern 8 3/4 axles. At what horsepower would you need to upgrade to bbp or aftermarket axles? Especially for a 4-speed car! Thanks in advance for any replies!

I know i snap all 5 of the lugs off my stock small bolt axles,on the starting line with my 416..have Moser axles w/1/2" studs now!!
