Iam using gm mustang 2 metric calipers on my straight axle, two new hoses and crush washers both sides leak from the crush washers...seems simple...but still leaks 7/16 hoses any ideas

I find that a lot of the new crush washers area cheap; they are made from really hard copper, or copper coated steel and won't crush and seal worth a crap. Search around at a NAPA store or a hardware store and find some softer copper crush washers.

BTW, if you are using the metric GM calipers with the 2-3/8" diameter pistons, these are a lot smaller diameter than the stock Mopar pistons. You may need to use the upgraded 2-3/4" diameter pistons and calipers to get proper front brakes; all depends on all the other factors.

Agreed.... very well stated, X2!!

You might try annealing the washers, google "annealing copper"

Make sure the hose end isn't bottoming out on the caliper before the washer gets crushed.

8 years or so back, new front hoses for 73 valiant w/discs from Autozone. I didn't have to deal with their new washers leaking. The stock banjo bolts wouldn't fit through the hole in the seal washers they included. Original washers saved the day. Just lucky I guess.

someone said that the hoses look like they should go one way but really go the other way.... anyone have a pic... looking at things better tmrw

leaks fixed turns out that the end of the hose was hitting the caliper body had to grind a little off of the calipers, used some old copper crush washers, tighten to 32 ft pounds no leaks so far... thanks for the replys
