Looking to see if I can pick up a used set on the cheap. PM with photo (including measurement from slider to bolt hole if possible) and price if you have them.

Also have some small block Chevy (blech!) racing parts that I'd be willing to trade - I have photos at: Vintage Small Block Chevy speed parts, et. al.. MSD box is not for trade nor is the Predator carb.

Can get them cheaper on eBay, but thanks.

Oh ya.
The ones that i see listed, are anywhere between $133.00 - $180.00
Don't know what your idea of "cheap" is, but luck to you in your search, then.
Then why aren't you purchasing them off of ebay?
Just asking?

Doc Diff's are $100 with free shipping, bolts and all. They may not be concourse, but it's a good deal for a brand-new niche part. and I'll probably wind up with those.

Still, I'm wary of any non-factory reproduction cast suspension or brake part - at least those designed for use on a factory street car. Doubly so since the repops don't have a country of manufacture listed (not that we do that much better here in the U.S. anymore, given the company). Case in point, the Chinesium from Right Stuff and their cracking spindle snafu.

I'd feel more comfortable with a set of factory units, but I'm not going to pay more for originals to erase a question mark in my mind - especially since this part can be pulled off of any malaise-era Cordoba.

I have a set of Dr. Diff repro brackets and they seem to be very well made. Will have no worries to run these on my car.
Im surprised more people don't buy them instead of paying the crazy prices of eBay and others on this forum

Call Cass at DrDiff, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to tell you where his caliper brackets are made. You're not going to find an original set for less than what he sells the repop's for.

I'm sure the Right Stuff spindles looked very well made too.

Mind you, I'm not questioning DrDiff's products, I'm just less inclined to run a reproduction of a niche part when the originals are out there by the bucketful. I know that the original Chrysler part has been tooling around on various cars since the '70s without any word of failure, which gives me peace of mind.

By comparison, the repop isn't going to be used in large numbers by average daily drivers as were the originals. Thus, if there is a weakness in manufacturing, it's not likely to make itself known. Case in point, everybody was perfectly happy with the Right Stuff spindles until someone's spindle cracked while the car was parked.

If it wasn't for that discovery (who would have realized the spindle caused the loss of control leading to an accident if it had cracked at high speed, particularly if the front end was totaled?), we'd all still be running around in blissful ignorance of a potentially life-threatening manufacturing defect.

One more thing to do somewhere between the 8:30-5:00 work week, but sure - I'm going to ask. EDIT: Brain fart. Email will do just fine. Sent.

As for finding a set cheaper than repops - I don't believe in that. Parts will go for dirt cheap here, on eBay, on Craigslist, and anywhere else parts are sold. You just have to be there for it (not that hard with eBay's saved searches) or simply ask. Case in point, that pile of small block Chevy parts were practically shoved in my arms for a price that would barely cover the cost of a new cam, complete with that Jesel timing belt.

New parts also don't have 40 years of wear and tear, unknown treatment, or damage. Casting technology has improved in 40 years too. Are the new ones better? Beats me. The old ones aren't perfect though.

Think you can find them cheaper? Awesome. Good luck. I've bought several sets, found a couple sets at pick and pull, and sold a couple sets, and still run a couple sets. The 11.75 sliders are sought after parts, that's why they're repopped now. They're cheaper now than they've ever been because of the reproductions out there. The cars that came with them rarely hit the yards anymore. The ones I bought at the yards were the only ones I ever bought for under $100. And the ones I sold got more like $130. I've got a couple sets still, but I've got a few cars too. Needless to say if I did sell originals it wouldn't be for less then repop's. But what do I know. They're not Chevy parts, that's for sure.

Ditto for the entire suspension system and unibody of any mostly original car on this forum, especially those with rear or front framerails that have been replaced or repaired. Yet, I don't see everyone making a beeline for a Dynacorn Mopar in a Crate (nor saying nice things about them).

There's one pick-and-pull out of the county that I haven't hit yet, and I probably will at this rate.

A Jesel timing belt for a Chevy is not your average Chevy part, like it or not. Ditto for an Isky rev kit. And Crower rockers don't care what engine they're on, so long as the rocker ratio is right. I might not like Chevy myself, but I sure wouldn't diss performance part spares from three IMSA-GT cars that ran 12 Hours of Sebring by comparing said parts to the mass-produced garbage from any of the big three.

I should have just kept my fingers of the keyboard in the beginning when replying that i have a pair of mounts for sale in the "For Sale" section of this forum.
Should have been a big red flag to me when someone states they are looking "on the cheap" for parts.
Guess I'm still learning lessions in my old age, not to reply to anything like that anymore.
When i put a search into ebay for mounts, this Dr. Diff vendor, sellers, ad did not come up in my search, for his price.
Ebay's search paramaters don't work the best, all the time.
Anyway, to the op, would my 15 bucks, over Dr. Diff's price have broken your piggy bank, or depleated your bank account, when searching for parts, or buying them?
For 40+ year old cars showing up in wrecking yards anymore, even for here in Northern California, is a rareity.
Can't even find a rear wheel drive vehicle of anything anymore, in the rows and rows of Chrysler products at the Pick-N-Pull's here in my state.
Then if you can find something of this vintage on your own, after all this time, more power to you.
Anyway, this reply will just bump your posting back to the top of the pile.

That's pretty much why I prefaced it with "cheap." Nothing wrong with fishing for a good deal, in my book (got a really nice unsilenced '68 air cleaner here that way).

Don't feel bad about it though, I really do appriciate that you dropped in to let me know - not everyone scans this forum to help out their fellow forum members.

We still get some F/M/J stuff at our one and only junkyard in town (way too much old Ford and Chevy rather than Mopar). If you're going out there with something specific in mind, you probably won't find it, but if you just go to pick up anything good with no rhyme or reason, you'll find stuff. What peeves me is MDPD and MPD had Diplomats and Grand Fury police cars out the wazoo, but they vanished. Neighbor did say something about two still languishing in the fleet though - I'll buy both if the county wants to part with them!

If I have to bite the bullet at the usual price, I'll probably go straight to originals - Cass responded to my email and said the new ones are made in Taiwan. The new ones are "plated" (with what?) to prevent corrosion, unlike the originals, but I'd rather run the originals given this knowledge.

Thanks for the well wishes on the hunt. More fun to hunt this stuff down anyway.
