What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Making a little progress on the interior. Temporary carpet installed, new upholstery on the bucket seats, center console mods & fluffing.

Man that runner look's solid ! You gunna build it ?

I got my helmet, hoping ill at least break 14 sec...but what I really want is to dive into the 12s (not sure if I can or not)

I doubt very seriously you will get there with the gears you have.

First time or two out, I wouldn't even attempt it.

gears and tires...neither one is set up for dragracing

and me not knowing what I'm doing
so yeah...probably not

I guess well know tonight

no kidding, I told the wife where I was going and what I'm doing there....she suggested I wear my walking shoes :banghead:

Just finished up installing some aftermarket SW gauges and changed the tack location from under the dash

Just relax and do your thing . Don't think about anything but you , the car and the light and I'm sure you'll do fine . :steering::thumbsup:

I walked a little bit...from the finish line back to the pits for instance, but I learned a lot
Well, this went mostly well
I had a fuel issue which I am not sure I managed to solve, but I had fun and a learned a lot (I can guarantee you it will never close a float adjuster by turning it the wrong way again)

The duster made it there on her own power and made it back home on her own power so I'm happy

The issue I was having was that towards the end of second gear I would run out of fuel, stutter and stumble before the carb would regain so I didn't get any good time

My best slip looked like this
Reaction -.0365
60 ft. 1.9853
330 f . 5.5913
1/8 et 8.7194
1/8 MPH 74.78
1000 et 11.8284
1000 MPH 72.96
1/4 et 14.9149
1/4 MPH 71.88

Now I just need to figure out why I was starving (fuel filter maybe?) Fix it and get back out there

(Oh, and the cars raceweigto is about 3500 lbs)

Heads are reassembled and painted.....
I test fit the cam and lifters....everything is nice and smooth. ..

Man it's hot out. I had to come in for some cool air, almost 90* here and humiiiiid. Too hard on an old fat guy, lmao.

Trying to get my top end components done.

Well, Ima bought done for today, except maybe some small tinkerin'.

I got the Edelbrock Elite series covers polished and the new hex head inserts it.

Of course the air cleaner didn't quite match so I had to 'fix' that, lol.

And then I just hadta see what it was gonna look like kinda together, lol.

U heads with 2.02/1.60 Ferrea stainless steel valves, new valve seats and valve guides, Crane Gold roller rockers on banana groove shafts, home porting and polished chambers. LD340 Intake, Holley 750 duel feed vacuum secondary carb (rebuilt). Edelbrock Elite Series covers and air filter.

With some patience and a bit of work, I was able to put this together for around 800 bucks.

Gee, for $800 I would expect a much larger motor, with, say.....a block and stuff!!!
