holley throttle linkage

yeah the piece in the picture looks right for the kickdown. i may just see if the old stuff unscrews from the 2 barrel that came off it.

my throttle doesnt have the ball end on it. its a piece with 2 holes that slides over a pin on the throttle lever then gets a small cotter pin to hold it.

You still need the geometry to be correct, which is why you need the adapter, I'm pretty sure. When you open the throttle the throttle pressure linkage (kickdown) needs to be pushed back, not pulled forward. You'll burn up your trans if it isn't right.

I was helping a guy a few weeks ago, he was trying to install a Holley carb on a 383 with just the pin in the pic. It opened the throttle just fine, but it was pushing the throttle pressure linkage forward. He didn't know it needed to go back....
