check out the shocks for an old imperial, that's what Chrysler used to recommend for s.s. springs.

A loosened up wore set is best. You should be looking for about 3" of rise on the body during
a launch without the shocks reaching their extended limit.

If you already have an old set of shocks you can pick up a set of shock extensions. It will accomplish the samething. Love your Dart!!

I changed the location of my upper shock mounts and put on SS spring the best way to do it is to measure the distance from your upper to lower mounts and call someone like Rancho or however you want to use and explain what your using them for and give them the measurement they will get you the right shocks

Go 2" longer than the stock extended length.

There is a Ford F-150 truck shock that's a bolt-in replacement, and good deal stiffer than stock, maybe a 1986?
Used them in '65, '72, and '71 Darts.
Excellent for handling.
1986 Corvette shocks work very well on the front of a Dart, all you have do is pull the bottom end bar out and press in the old shock's bushing.

Why not download the suspension section of the Mopar Performance Parts catalog and pull the number for the proper shocks for use with the abody SS springs .Worked for me and they were cheaper than the KYB's I took off .

All of this information is in the Mopar Suspension book. Every. Single. Bit.

Agreed but is the book available? As for my response I'm pretty sure the ABody SS shocks are the only ones they still list in the catalog , makes it pretty hard not to find them eh ! Whats this the fourth thread asking this question in 3 weeks ? This site has a search function der eh folks .

I suggested the 86 Corvette shocks because no one made gas shocks for the front on a Dart. Unless that's changed.

The OP is asking for info on what shocks to use with Mopar SS springs , your Dart and all our Mopars have a torsion bar front suspension , the SS springs go on the back .

PS try KYB KG4509 GAS ADJUST.

I think the book is actually out of print, but it shouldn't be hard to find a copy used.

I've got my eyes open for a copy for sure , I guess I could probably ask Inertia if he has one but he tends to just do everything by 50 years of instinct and the laying of hands.
