Don't know what area you are in, but I came accross a great gift idea today that I would actually really like! There is an old school metal forging business in my area (near Ann Arbor) that offers a 2 hour course in metal forging, and the cost is only $50! It's a hands on course where you learn all aspects of old school metal forging, and I was told by the owner/instructor that it is not uncommon for a session to go 4 hours or more to complete the "project" that you get to pick, make, and keep!! This sounds like heaps of fun!!!
