Engine out can I install Dougs beforehand

Ok toys and squirrels, we got Eddie's engine in with the Doug's Headers.... A little challenging, but got it done...

69 Dart GTS with PS and PB....

Here's what you can't have on the engine:

1. Mini starter - sticks out too much from the engine and interferes with dropping the engine in....
2. Engine to trans braces - they interfere with the headers as they are tight to the engine block in that area...
3. 90° oil filter adapter - it hits the pass inner fender while trying to get the left side and header in...

** You need to remove the center link...

Then hang the left header while installing the engine, and leave the pass side out. After getting the driver's side in and on the end studs, then lift the engine off the mounts and snake the pass header in from below. It's a little tricky, but we managed... It's very tight on the left side with the PS box, so it's easier to leave the pass header out so you can use the room on that side to help get the engine close to the mounts, then get the left header on the end studs in the head. We couldn't get the left header in with the right one hanging, we took the right one out and installed it from below after the left header was in. We had to lift the engine off the mounts a little to get the pass header in...

We used an engine hoist with an equalizer/leveler bar and installed the engine and trans together from above...

They are very tight on both sides... We may have to notch the one tube as it's so close to the steering column and may hit. We couldn't check as we have the power steering pump removed and the power steering fluid shoots out of the hoses if we try to turn the wheel...
