Need a little help about lower windshield glass & molding on a 68 Dart GT

I have to suspect before the black paint was put down on the top of the dash frame and windshield
opening the holes for the screws got filled.
I would drill the holes in the locations shown in the chart posted above for some new philips screws. As far as the height of the holes it is more important than the spacing. It determines how flush the moulding will sit to the body and glass when popped onto the clip.
My photo shows the height of the original screws still
in place at factory height. The clips are damaged but
the screws/ holes are what is needed for your reference. As long as you have the factory clip.
There are also many different clips out their for many applications. They have different working heights.
I will post a picture of the correct clip for the factory
screw height.
If you have to use a non factory height clip then the
holes will need to moved to put the catch on the clip
at the correct factory height.

Hey ssba,

The black paint was me - I had striped the entire car - I painted the top part of the dash and windshield frame so there would be a good coat of paint under the windshield weatherstrip................ I did no bodywork to the cowl panel.............I am the only one doing all the work on this car so I know there were no screw hole at the bottom of this windshield - that's why I posted the question - it seemed odd that there were no holes to begin with. This is not my first restoration - been doing this for over 35 years

thanks for the reply - I will use your suggestion and make sure the clip height is correct.

thanks !

Mike
