The Maaco inquiries come up periodically, so i thought I'd share my results. Overall, I'm very Happy. Maaco's are independently owned and operated, so results may vary. They sprayed two stage Sherman Williams Paint....under hood, trunk, jams, doors, bumpers...EVERYTHING. Plus wet sanded and buffed. All for 2300...an absolute bargain if you ask me. Granted...the 100's of hours of getting the body perfect, was all mine...they just sprayed.

hell yea.. that looks grrreat! keep us posted!
Thanks man. I mostly wanted to show that quality paint jobs can be had for reasonable dollars. I've heard too many nightmare stories of cars being at the shop for months/years...thousands of dollars wasted and it STILL not being finished. 2300 bucks and 3 weeks at the local Maaco.

Very nice! I'm thinking of taking my truck there
The Fort Worth location?? I'd go to the Maaco first and ask to see finished cars if it's another location. One had 3 cars painted at this place over the years. None of which were this level of detail....but I've always been happy with their work.

Your car looks great! Macao guys can paint, that's what they do. The prep/bodywork is what makes the final product.

Thanks. That was my theory...figured that guy lays down more paint in one day, then I will in my entire life. He HAS to be pretty good

That looks fabulous, you did fine bodywork too. Can we see a shot of the side. Also I love the wheel and tire fit, can you post your wheel and tire sizes?

Thanks for the kind words. Inside isn't much right now...gutted. Wheels are steelies from summit. Fronts are:
Wheel Vintiques 63 Series O.E. Chrysler Black Wheels 63-575404 (small bolt pattern) Rears axle is the ford 8.8 swap...rear wheels are: Wheel Vintiques 63 Series O.E. Chrysler Black Wheels 63-5812042. I got the rear wheels tucked up tight by de-arching my new springs a bit, and using drop hangers.

Nice, I had them do a hood down here in South FL. It was terrible! I had the do the body work though

We used to do that with the local Earl Scheib when I was in school. We'd do sometimes 4 cars a month. We did all the body and prep work and took them down to Earl Scheib and they sprayed them for $99.95, but it had to be one of their colors. As long as the prep and body work was good, they turned out nice. Yours looks great.

Looks great!!!Just goes to show if you do your homework and check out their finished product on other cars you can get a decent paint job.Your prep and bodywork made your paint job.Great job on that!!!Couple of small bodyshops around here do the bodywork and prep ,then take to Econo here to get painted...mainly larger SUV'S and trucks with great results.

Looks great! We have a lot of guys use them just the way you did. They do all the body work and prep, supply the paint, let them shoot it in their booth, take it home and cut/buff themselves. A real money saver.

Every now and then I'll drive by an econo, shceib, maaco, or electrobake that has one or more great looking cars sitting outside.

For a long time there was car after beautiful car sitting outside an electrobake across town.

I guess that guy got a better offer, as now there's a maaco that's been cranking out a lot of nice looking jobs including classics.

Looks really nice! You are right with the price being a bargain. That will be a bada$$ ride when complete...

Dave,

Looks great! ..........
but ya' look a little young there in the driver's seat.
