Anyone use TCP Global Plum Crazy Paint?

-
every company that sells plum crazy is a different shade I just went through this make sure you do a test hit on a card to make sure its what you want . as far as tcp goes i'm not sure .

Never used that color, been happy with other TCP paints and products.

The primer color you use will make a difference in how the color appears.

I had used tcp plum crazy about 10 years ago on my 68. It was single stage urethane though.. It has held up pretty good for cheap paint minus it fading some. My car did sit outside for a number or years until I had a place to store it.

I will be using the tcp global sublime kit here soon on my duster in base clear. I shot under the trunk lid and nice looking color as well. Base covered very well and clear laid on smooth

tried to find pictures of the plum crazy in different light and angles

I used their paint. But it was true blue matallic fire mist base coat clear coat.

I used the gold single stage for the interior of my car. It really laid down nice and had no fish eye. Very smooth good looking paint

I thought it was easy to work with also, but didn't use metallic but AE single stage.
Order it through Wally World and the shipping is 1/2 what it is from TCP but the paint cost is exactly the same.

I never thought about ordering through wal mart. Thanks for the information

I'm sure that if you are trying for an exact match to an OEM color, it won't be what you want.

It's really tough to get a match in purple.
Had my 65 GT done in Plum Crazy.
Got some cans for touch up...nope...
got another case for touch up, close enough but no match.
There's so much metallic in the paint it's practically impossible to keep shiny.
In all my years of junk yard searching, every car I ever saw that had been factory plum crazy had been repainted to some other color. Probably because of fading and dulling.

Awesome thanks for all the photos and comments! I appreciate it, glad to hear good reviews.

Racerkilla that cuda looks great! Is that non metallic?

Thanks

I saw someone mentioned something about primer color affecting end result? I'm looking for a darker more deeper looking tone of the plum crazy variation.

What color primer should I choose for that?

Thanks! Those darts look great by the way!

Black. But it won't make a huge difference.

Yes it is metallic. Has quite a bit actually. I'll have to try to find up close picture

Here's a pic of a Dart sidelined in repair, still wearing Plum Crazy.
Car being moved to alt storage while my life is being re-organized.
