Wheel bearing bad off the shelf?

So, long story short. I get the whirring sound of a bad wheel bearing and I know it's in the front end. So I buy both if them because it sounds like both sides are making noise. I replace the passenger side and the other side is still making noise. I replace the drivers side the next weekend and it's still making noise, but the noise seems to be coming from the passenger side. So I warranty the passenger side bearing and install the new one and it's still making noise! When I turn left the noise gets very quiet and almost gone. When I turn right the sound gets louder. So my question is. Is it possible to be having bad wheel bearings off the shelf? It's getting hard to narrow this down the sound went away seems like on the drivers side. Should I just get the really expensive bearings and see if that fixes my problem? I'm using masterpro O'Reilly house brand parts. I've never had an issue before until now.
